Beechwood Care Home

Beechview Care Home in Corstorphine, Edinburgh is for 63 residents with ancillary facilities including a cafe, a library, activity spaces and externally a new car park and a children's playground.

The site is currently a dead end with no formal links. The development has the opportunity to provide several links. The woodland to the south is part of an old railway embankment which is now a well used cyclepath and footpath.  The building layout tries to minimise the numbers of residents grouped together whilst allowing the provider to have acceptable staffing ratios for residents, each with their own dining area, kitchenette and sitting room. Each flat consists of either 9 or 12 residents, and has its own front door.
