Cottrell Building

Overcladding was completed in September 2006 with a specialist cladding contractor. The works were undertaken in two phases: phase one to remove exisitng concrete panels and nibs with phase two comprising overcladding and window replacement to the building.

Over-cladding thermal study: Cottrell Building

You can see from the thermal image how poorly functioning the windows and wall were prior to the new over-cladding. The cost of over-cladding these buildings was approximately 7% the cost of new replacement buildings, and the heating requirements for the buildings has been reduced by approximately 80%. Throughout the project the building was able to function normally.
